Whether an acne-problem developed during your difficult teen years or later in life, the awful breakouts of acne are difficult to deal with. With old wives tales that perpetuate the erroneous belief that acne is caused by the foods you eat, you, along with many other acne sufferers are left feeling like they have done something wrong. Modern advances in acne skin care products can help clear up even the worst cases of acne.
Acne Myths
First of all, washing your face more often will not clear up an acne outbreak. Acne is not caused by dirt. Proper acne skin care of gentle washing twice a day with a specialized acne skin
care product is all that is needed. Second, your acne is probably not caused by stress. Stress can cause your body to produce more hormones which may lead to acne, but instead of stressing more over this, spend your time developing a good acne skin care program. Finally, diet is not causing your acne. Some acne sufferers may find relief by altering their diets to include different vitamins and minerals, but the chocolate you had for a snack today and the pizza dinner last night did not cause your acne. Consider adding vitamins that promote healthy skin to your diet as an added step in your acne skin care program.

If you must use a moisturizer, your skin care for acne program should include a non-comedogenic moisturizer. This special acne skin care product will not further aggravate a break out while still providing needed moisturizers to your skin.
